International Women's Day & Our Birthday!

The 8th March isn’t just International Women’s Day - It just so happens to be our birthday too - YaY- We celebrated our first birthday by hosting a conference - The Menopause and Me

And what an amazing day it was too, with over 50 delegates all wanting to know more from our professionals and experts in their fields. Everyone left full of a sense of hope, greater knowledge and better equipped to move forward. The feedback was incredible too, with many asking us to most certainly run this event again.

Our enormous thanks goes to Susanna Unsworth - Donna Boggis - Emily Barclay + Nikki Sherman for provided everyone with so much amazing advice and support in their workshops. The amazingly generous local business women Sheri- Natalie - Liz - Candi - Denise + Laura for donating raffle prizes. Keith Robinson (Suffolk County Councillor) for providing the funds to hire the venue and costs toward printing. Bev Shipp from ASDA Lowestoft for agreeing to support us with everything from teabags to 2 fruit hampers for the raffle. Kareena - (Kirkley Centre manager) for allowing us to have the entire building for the day at an extremely reasonable cost. And the amazing team of women I am blessed to have the support of :- Donna - Lesley - Bev - Jasmine + Maxine (most people didn’t see them as they were buzzing around in the back ground either creating the delicious buffet or moving chairs around when needed and refilling water jugs) I couldn’t have done it without them all x

So now the work really starts - our aim is to form a collective of experts and professionals, to design a package we take to women. Get local businesses signed up to receive training - adopting policies for their businesses. Work with other groups such as #Pausitivity & # 50 Sense, to get more information into Drs surgeries and campaign to ensure more health professionals can receive training to enable them to help women seeking help!

If you want to help them please print off your poster and get it up in your GP surgery - Your staff room - ANYWHERE you think other women may see it.
